Liechtenstein Apartments

Apartments at Liechtenstein Park - quiet, green, academic quarter.

About the hotel

Apartments in an old building next to Liechtensteinpark, one of Vienna's less touristy green spots. The neighbourhood is academic - university, student housing, small cafés. If you want a quiet stay with your own kitchen and don't need the bustle of the centre, this works. Tram to the centre in ten minutes.

Location: 9th district (Alsergrund). Sigmund Freud Museum, AKH, Liechtenstein Palace. Academic, green, very Viennese.

Location & getting there

The Liechtenstein Apartments are in Alsergrund, the ninth district, right by Liechtensteinpark - one of the quietest green corners of the city. The neighbourhood has an academic feel: the university, small cafés, the lanes of the Serviten quarter. There are hardly any tourist crowds here, just genuine everyday Viennese life. The tram takes you into the centre in about ten minutes, so despite the calm setting you are quickly at the Ring. From the airport, take the CAT or S7 to Wien Mitte and continue by public transport. There is no on-site parking; the paid short-term zone applies in the area.

Who is it for?

From around 125 euros a night you get an entire flat with a kitchen - compared to hotel rooms at a similar price, a strong deal for longer stays. Ideal for returning Vienna visitors, couples seeking peace and quiet, and anyone who prefers brewing their own morning coffee and living like a local. Families benefit from the space and the park next door. First-time visitors who want every sight within walking distance, or travellers who want full hotel service, will be better off in the first district.
