Stay in Vienna is an independent online city guide for Vienna, in German and English. The site offers a deliberately compact selection of hotels, sights, district guides and magazine articles - instead of thousands of listings that don't help anyone decide.
How the hotel selection is made
You'll find around 40 hotels across 10 Viennese districts here, from the 5-star classic on the Ringstraße to the guesthouse behind Westbahnhof. The selection follows three criteria: location (walkable or well connected by public transport to the main sights), a review profile that has stayed consistently strong on the major booking platforms over time, and a price range that covers everyone from budget to luxury travellers.
No hotel can buy its way onto this list. There are no paid placements and no sponsored recommendations. Prices, ratings and amenity details come from publicly available sources, mainly Booking.com, and are meant as guidance - the provider's information at the time of booking is always what counts.
How the site is funded
Stay in Vienna is completely free for you. The site is funded in two ways, both of which we label openly:

These links are marked as affiliate links on the respective pages. Advertising: content pages may show ads served by Google AdSense.
Neither has any influence on which hotels are listed or how they are described. A higher commission does not turn a mediocre hotel into a guest favourite.
What Stay in Vienna is not
We are not a travel agency and not a booking platform. Bookings, cancellations and pricing questions are handled directly by the respective provider (Booking.com, GetYourGuide or the hotel itself). We do not broker bookings and do not offer travel advice by phone.
