About this sight

The Naschmarkt between Wienzeile and Karlsplatz exists in its current form since the late 18th century and has been at its present site since 1916, when the Wien river was vaulted over. Across roughly 2.3 hectares you find fruit and vegetable stalls, fishmongers, cheese and olive vendors, plus many eateries serving Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food. On Saturdays the adjacent strip becomes a flea market. The market is closed on Sundays, though most restaurants stay open.
