About this sight

Schönbrunn served as the Habsburg summer residence from the 18th century onwards. The current ensemble largely dates from Maria Theresa's rebuild. The palace has around 1,441 rooms, 40 of which are open to visitors. The Baroque park with the Neptune Fountain, the maze and the Gloriette is open to the public. The grounds also include Tiergarten Schönbrunn, founded in 1752 and the world's oldest continuously operating zoo. Schönbrunn has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.

Palace open daily, ticketed with timed entry. Palace park free, open from early morning to dusk.
