About this sight

The Hofburg in the 1st district served as the Habsburg residence for centuries. The oldest section, the Swiss Court (Schweizerhof), dates back to the 13th century, with additions reaching into the early 20th century. Today the Hofburg is the official seat of the Austrian Federal President and houses the Imperial Apartments, the Sisi Museum, the Silver Collection, the Imperial Treasury with the regalia, the Spanish Riding School and the Austrian National Library including its State Hall.
