Small, personally-run property in the second district. Interior picks up Persian motifs without tipping into kitsch. Rooms have character and not all are alike - ask for pictures in advance. Praterstern and Augarten walkable, perfect for travellers who want something other than a standard hotel.

Location & getting there
The Hotel Cyrus is in Leopoldstadt, the second district between the Danube Canal and the Prater. The Praterstern transport hub with the U1, U2 and S-Bahn is within walking distance - from there the U1 gets you to Schwedenplatz on the edge of the old town in a few minutes. The Augarten and the Prater with its Ferris wheel are also walkable, and the Karmelitermarkt with its restaurants is not far. The district is convenient for airport arrivals too: the S7 stops right at Praterstern, so you reach the hotel almost without changing. There is no on-site parking, but public garages are nearby.
Who is it for?
With rates from around 89 euros, the Cyrus is one of the more affordable boutique addresses in town - well below what comparably individual houses in the first district charge. It suits solo travellers, couples and returning Vienna visitors who want a small house with personality and appreciate the second district as a base. If you expect standardised chain quality, a big breakfast buffet or extensive hotel service, a classic four-star property will serve you better - here, personal character is the point.
