About this sight
The Albertina sits on Albertinaplatz in the Palais Erzherzog Albrecht. Founded on the 1776 collection of Duke Albert of Saxe-Teschen, it is considered one of the world's most important print collections. Holdings include roughly 65,000 drawings and around one million printed sheets, with works by Dürer, Michelangelo, Rubens, Schiele and Klimt. Since the 2000s the museum has also shown classic modern and contemporary painting. The cantilevered „Soravia Wing" over the entrance was designed by Hans Hollein.
