Hotel Radisson Blu Style Vienna
Design hotel at the Herrengasse entrance, art deco meets modern - steps from the Hofburg.
About the hotel
In a former bank building on Herrengasse, with dark wood, brass, indirect lighting. Rooms are minimalist, beds are good. Location is dead-central: Hofburg, Graben, Stephansdom all walkable. Breakfast above average, the Sandbar busy in the evenings.
Location: 1st district (Innere Stadt). The first district - UNESCO World Heritage, St. Stephen's Cathedral, Hofburg, Albertina. Stay here for postcard Vienna.
Location & getting there
Herrengasse is one of the most refined addresses in the old town, and this is exactly where the Radisson Blu Style sits - in a former bank building between the Hofburg and the Freyung. The U3 station Herrengasse is right outside, while Graben, Kohlmarkt and Stephansdom are a few minutes on foot, the Hofburg even closer. Essentially everything you want to see in the first district is within walking distance. From the airport, take the CAT or S7 to Wien Mitte, then the U3 straight to Herrengasse with no further change. There is no hotel car park, but the public Freyung garage is close by.
Who is it for?
From around 230 euros a night you get five-star design in the heart of the first district - a fair rate for this location, sitting in the upper mid-range of the Vienna market. The house suits couples and city travellers who care about interiors, good beds and an above-average breakfast, and anyone who enjoys ending the day at the hotel bar. Families with children, or travellers who need space and their own kitchen, will be better served by an apartment hotel.
