Stay in Vienna is an independent online city guide for Vienna, in German and English. The site offers a deliberately compact selection of hotels, sights, district guides and magazine articles - instead of thousands of listings that don't help anyone decide.
How the hotel selection is made
You'll find a compact, hand-picked selection of hotels from the Viennese districts that actually matter to visitors - from the 5-star classic on the Ringstraße to the guesthouse near Mariahilfer Straße. Every profile carries its own editorial verdict, a price assessment, honest pros and cons and a verification date. The criteria and the limits of our judgements are documented openly on How we select and review hotels.
No hotel can buy its way onto this list. There are no paid placements and no sponsored recommendations. Prices, ratings and amenity details come from publicly available sources - the hotels' own information and the major booking platforms - and are assessed, cross-checked and dated by us. The provider's information at the time of booking is always what counts.
How the site is funded
Stay in Vienna is completely free for you. The site is funded in two ways, both of which we label openly:
Affiliate links: if you book a hotel through one of our links (via Booking.com) or a tour through GetYourGuide, we earn a commission. The price you pay does not change. These links are marked as affiliate links on the respective pages. Advertising: content pages may show ads served by Google AdSense.
Neither has any influence on which hotels are listed or how they are described. A higher commission does not turn a mediocre hotel into an Editor's pick.
What Stay in Vienna is not
We are not a travel agency and not a booking platform. Bookings, cancellations and pricing questions are handled directly by the respective provider (Booking.com, GetYourGuide or the hotel itself). We do not broker bookings and do not offer travel advice by phone.
