Location & getting there

The Gartenhotel Gabriel sits in the third district, Landstraße - a quiet residential and embassy quarter east of the centre. With U3 Kardinal-Nagl-Platz and U4 Rochusgasse, two subway lines are within walking distance, putting Stephansplatz and Karlsplatz just a few stops away. The Belvedere and the Hundertwasserhaus, the district's two big sights, are reachable on foot or with a short ride. Arriving from the airport is straightforward, since the CAT and S7 terminate at Wien Mitte, which is also in the third district. On top of that, a limited number of hotel parking spaces is available.

Who is it for?

From around 119 euros a night, the Gabriel offers a lot for the money, especially for families: its own garden, family rooms and a personally run operation - a very fair price in Vienna's four-star segment. Couples and quiet-seeking city travellers who prefer calm evenings are equally well placed here. If, however, you want to live in the thick of it, expect bars and restaurants right outside the door, or are visiting Vienna for the first time and want maximum proximity to the centre, the first or seventh district will serve you better.
